Anyone play Footy?

Just wondering if anyone else here plays soccer? I'm trying to find a league to play in come summer time, either through the soccer centre, or wherever else.

My sister's fiancee plays in a league... i think they're "Rangers Supporters" or something like that. Basically a bunch of Scots and Brits playing games and then drinking themselves silly at the Ship. I don't think you necessarily need to be of British descent to join them though. I'll ask him about it when i see him next.

alright, thanks. Hopefully they don't boot me because I'm German... LOL. I know the soccer centre has a summer league, so maybe I'll call them too.

You can play cheaply and recreationally at the U of C in June/July/August (erratic schedule) or through Calgary Sport and Social Club with spring season (May/June) and summer season (July /August) once per week, unless you wish to register for more than one league. My understanding is that the soccer centre is rather expensive considering all you need is a few guys, a field and a ball. Fine solution for the winter, but in the summer there are leagues and games everywhere, including pick-up.

damn I wish I was in Calgary in the summers, I'd love to join a league, i havent played since my highschool days (decades ago). I used to play on team manitoba!

The soccer center has co-ed leagues in the summer that are kinda fun. I am looking for an outdoor team for this year but I have to see what the verdict is on my wrecked thumb, hard to play keeper with one hand
