  • Steelies for mk6 tdi

hey guys, why is it that when i try to source 15" steel rims from either Costco website or tirerack, that the smallest they list for a highline TDI is 16" My spare is a 195/65/15 so I don't get it. are 15" rim just not recommended for some reason?

I have 15" oem steelies for my passat. Come test fit if you are worried. 5x112. Not sure on offset.

Sorry.. misread that. You have one as a spare. Should be no issue I think. As for sourcing them, check with Tirebob at UrbanX. Sometimes he can get OEM takeoffs. Sometimes there are a little better quality than aftermarket steelies, and hubcaps will fit if you choose to go that way.

Or make this guy an offer...

okay. i just wanted to makes sure. not the preferred option but i can live with.

yeah i saw that ad earlier today too. i use to have Nordics on my mk4. they were ok. my first option is costco steelies and Xi3. but a lot cheaper if i pick those other ones up.

I've lucked out with used tire/steelie combos from kijiji. Hard to be sure as tire issues are not usually easy to eyeball. I have had those tires too. If the price is right, they would do the trick. I seem to recall that their we traction was below what I expected.
