Yikes. Just had the C4S debate with Derek, and they're pulling north of $60k USD easy.

Looked up the last sold C2, and it was a VERY low mile example, that went for $120K LOL.

Not a big fan of the shape of the TT.

        I also don't like AWD.

              Re: Best buy under 50k?

Honestly, I wish you luck on the search for a C63.

I have been looking for one since Nov/Dec of 2013 and have given up at this point. My criteria was simple, had to be at least a 2010 and have enough original warranty left that I could purchase extended warranty directly through MB (5K for 2 years). I have seen approximately 6 in person and none were up to my standards. One guy even tried to play off his 2 accidents as being minor, yet when asked to elaborate he mentioned that the entire suspension components had to be changed over. We are talking about 12-15K per side, not sure how picky you are as an individual, but if I am going to spend 40-50K on a car, it better be pristine.

My suggestion is to look for at least a 2011+ this way you do not face any head bolt issues as experienced from '08 to early '11. Had one immaculate C63 pop a CEL on me, after doing a code-check it brought up all the symptoms that you would experience with a head bolt issue. Aside from that the engine is pretty solid, interior is el-cheapo but the raw power of the car makes up for it. It makes for a shitty winter vehicle, even with winter tires on.

Hope you saved some cash for gas, as it slurps at quite a high rate but that is expected from a vehicle that makes 451 hp. PP is great and all but its nothing special unless you get the one with red calipers. The rotors will cost u a cool $1500 US pair(prior to conversion and shipping) compared to the $250/piece on the non-PP cars. The extra power from a PP is nice but hardly noticeable when street driven.

Any questions just give me a shout.

993 C2 (if you can find a good one) or an RS4.

993's are a solid investment and would be a fun weekend / summer car.

RS4's are (in my opinion) the greatest all-around car, period.

How is the RS4? I've heard Clarkson lampoon it against the M3. I'm more a fan of RWD.

Would also prefer an automanual, stick is fun, but I get tired of it very fast on long drives.

If you don't have a family and kids I'd spend as much as you want and get the best Porsche you can. Enjoy it while your young and can. Other wise I'd go s4 or rs4 for all year duty, but you said not winter driven so go c63. Anyway you do it it will be a sweet car.

Responsible me would just get a civic.

On a long drive? what? you rarely shift gears anyways on a long drive. I could see that holding true for city driving
