    Cupra-zilla !!!

    Cuprazilla was born today! Figured I would post this in the lounge since so many cars can run these.

    After the third cupra lip exploded this winter I decided to do a re-design and make a beefier version. I dragged out the plastic welder and a sheet of 1/4 inch today and started a prototype. Here is a first shaping. Needs a bit of finishing but I like how it is starting to look. Much more aggressive. Once I mirror the Passenger half I will fit it to the car for final shaping. Then it will be carbon fiber (weather permiting) time but this time with quick/remover aluminum inserts into the bumper.

                Finished the second half, welded together and final shaping for the car. It definitely is more aggressive.

                      Plastic welding with 1/4 polyethylene sheet. Same stuff I have been making meth tanks out of. It Welds nicely its strong and can be shaped with regular body work tools. It does not load the discs so it is nice to work with. It is better than prototyping with foam because you end up with a usable part. I have become very handy with a cordless 4.5 inch grinder with flappy disks. I will also do swan ice sculptures for weddings and stump grizzly bears for your lawn. JK.
