  • Removing texture off of media blasted wheels

Just got my wheels media blasted, I need to remove the texture off of the aluminum, I can machine sand off the faces but the side of the spokes will just take way too long to do by hand. Any quick and easy ways around it?

A band file sander would work fast but would be fairly aggressive.

Jerry I have a Dremel multi max that you could borrow. That may work.

are you just painting over the sides? if you are and it was just plastic media, then you wont see that texture through the primer.

Thanks for the offer but I have a Dremel, I don't prefer it because it doesn't cut the texture very even, yeah I'm getting all of the texture off so I can polish it

Its not just a Dremel rotory tool. It is a Dremel detail sander that uses this type of paper. It would leave a flat surface and can get into tight contoured places. Let me know and I can bring it to the coffee meet.

This^ a little belt sander like above would leave you with all sorts of crazy uneven sanding marks. Dremel would be the way to go
