Button just lost the tip, more of a circumcision, lol.

I thought there was a fair bit of passing and racing compared to some previous seasons, but perhaps less drama then we all expected. Each event will see some bugs be fixed and some develop with the different conditions and tracks, which will hopefully result in some serious competition as the season progresses.

Personally I actually like how the cars sound now, just wish it was a little louder!!

I really hope this year bring actual racing not the rule racing and a race against technology instead of eachother. Hamilton got called into the pits "Lewis we're done, we can't risk hurting the engine we need it for the season" or vettel not having his energy recovery system and needing to retire.
It's still really early but when the fuel flow rait cost Ricardo his second place finish I really have to wonder. Smaller engines, less fuel, more and more technology, less aero and more and more restrictions and regulations through out the car. I want racing On the track. Not an engineering race. Which is what I think this season will be.

So I missed the live race at 0200 but downloaded the SkyTV broadcast and WOW was it loud... noticed the throaty sound a lot more and it's starting to grow on me.

I spent a lot of time watching the deltas between Hamilton/Rossberg/Vettel and also Kimi as he moved up the pack from the back of the field after his flat tyre. What else can you do when there isn't a lot of outright racing going on lol

What really impressed me was how much less fuel Massa used than everyone else, especially in the face of team orders to move aside. To my eye it didn't look like he was being sufficiently challenged to validate the pass... but I'll bet he was really pushing hard to justify his position. So, using so much less fuel is impressive.

I read an interesting quip (on Motortrend, I think?) saying the new turbo era will turn F1 back into a thinking man's race, with the abundance of torque requiring fuel and tyre management par excellence. Back to the Alain "The Professor" Prost kind of champions...

I can agree with that to a certain point. In the last race you could watch (hulkenberg especially) leave the corners and the car go squirly. Everytime he was on the power the car would step out just a bit. Comparing that to how hamilton drove, which was incredibly smooth shows the difference in driver more so then the big Vs that the turbos replaced.

The difference in power between the mercedes and the rest of the power units is incredible. Any mercedes powered car can just drive around the rest. So much straight line speed.

Mercedes has a two part turbo with the turbine on the exhaust side and the compressor on the "cool" side with a shaft running through the "v". If you are not a Mercedes fan, it's going to be a loooong season.

best race i've seen in a long time. i knew the mercs were gonna pull ahead and i don't care if they dominate, as long as they continue to let them race like that. really stoked on the williams and force india showing today. the mad dash to the finish after the sauber flip was pretty awesome. the sounds of the race are really growing on me.

It was a great race. The yellow at the end was perfect timing. Bunched everyone up nicely. The red bulls aren't out of the running yet even with that Renault engine.
Hamilton is on fire. By far the best car with the mercedes but holding off Nico like that was impressive. Williams, force india are making a good season so far and i love the look of the Williams.

very good race, entertained the whole time. the track was definetly in favour of the mercedes powered cars having 4 straight stretches. i think Riccardo will be on the podium in China with the two mercedes team mates.

Man alive what a good race. I agree about that last Yellow, talk about perfect timing. Hell even watching Mercedes teammates battling it out was awesome.
