Popular 70s/80s Car Modification s

As some of you know, I've recently acquired an E21 BMW, and since I love the 70s I would like to modify this car in a 70s fashion. Don't flame me, just for fun, car will return to stock when I sell it lol! What where the most popular modification both good and bad in the 1970s and 80s? Eg. Today's red calipers and tinted tails.

PS: This is a thread for fun! And hopefully bring back some of the good old memories for the older guys here!

That bumper...


But I believe shag carpet was popular then. So shag everything. Interior, exterior, engine bay, wheels, etc haha

Well I would say that modding was not nearly as popular back then so not sure there are that many easy to do period correct mods, I would say that an Alpina style body kit and a period correct aftermarket stereo would be fairly awesome though!!!

Furry Dice have to be up there on the list surely. leopard print seat covers. And really old fashioned AMA sticker. Driver and passenger names in vinyl at the top of the windshield

I would definitely get alpina parts if I could afford it... I would be getting a proper old school sound system for sure... Furry dice check... Pin striping check...

Clean E21! Vintage bimmers FTW!

Definetely do a bumper tuck or euro bumper conversion. NA diving board bumpers are dumb. Some subtle lowering, a lower chin spoiler of some sort and some mesh wheels, (maybe some Enkei 92's or something) would be perfect for a period correct look.
