So my poor van was the victim of an inexperienced 16 year old driver while parked in front of my house. He slid around the corner and side swiped the rear corner with his rear passenger door. So after an estimate of over $7k to repair ($3k for the bumper alone) the insurance told me parts are not available. In the end I get a cash out and get to keep it but I will no longer be able to have comprehensive coverage. After removing the rear bumper it is all really easy to fix. I will need to plastic weld everything back together and get some paint done. The damage to the rear trunk is hidden under a aftermarket hatch cover (which also needs repair).
Buuuuut the wife now wants to sell it. I say spend a little and fix it up and rock it till it dies. Anyone thing that running without comprehensive is a bad idea? I think that it would save me more to drive it then sell it for beans now anyways. Opinions?
