Well, I checked out the show on Friday night. Met up with Blair and caught a glimpse of some of the other members. Sorry I didn't say "Hi" to the rest of you but my crew was on the move. Anyway, all in all a good showing, but nothing new and nothing spectacular in the display models. I wish they had done more in the way of concepts. I was actually really impressed with the in-person viewing of the SAAB 9-3 and the Acura TL.

Just a few personal observations.

Pretty good show - was surprised to see that Saleen S7.. sweet merciful crap it's hot. I think I finally persuaded my dad to get my mum a Touareg as well. Going to test drive a V8 on Tuesday night!

My dad is putting a deposit on a Smart Car tomorrow. I'm thinking about buying one too. 80mpg? thats simply kick ass.

yah thast awesome, with that sorta mileage you only have to fill up once a month!

chris my buddy's parents back home bought a V8 tourag loaded to the nuts.. its so fun to drive.. very damn fast i have to say.. its really g'd up from the factory

yah thast awesome, with that sorta mileage you only have to fill up once a month!

no kidding. I'm thinking about buying one too. i should sell the TDI and get smart. how are those plugs working out? still rocking?

haha yah they're rocking, I raced my buddies 94 stealth TT this morning from a roll and kept up for 2 full gears. i was impressed!

I'd hold out on the Smart until later in the year. I hear the Smart Roadster will be released in Canada for 2005. All the looks of a sportscar in a tiny package. Much better looking than those boxes at the auto show:

I personally thought the concept Ford F-150's were cool, along with the entire line of Landcruisers and the Toyota Tacoma X-Runner concept.

I admit the ONE thing I wanted to see was the Dodge Ram truck with the Viper engine that hits 0-60 in 2.9. Who needs the hemi when you've got a Viper in a truck.

haha a truck that gets 9 MPG. not your everyday truck.

it reminds me of Reinier wolfcastle from simpsons when talking abuot his hummer. "she gets 1 MPG highway, 0 City."

They did have an SRT 10 truck there it was silver next to the yellow truck right by the entrance. That is the fastest production truck ever I believe.

It couldn't believe how cheap the SRT 10 RAM was...

For a truck like that, it was only like 63,000 or something...

crazy!

They were selling Durangos for more money right next to it!
