    Radar Detectors are legal in BC, AB, SK. Illegal pretty much everywhere else. I've had my Escort 8500 X50 Blue or whatever for about 7 years now... it's a beast. No complaints.

      Plus if you hard wire your radar and put it tight against the roof the cops rarely see it, now having it in the middle of the windscreen might be another story XD

        In most of the provinces that they are illegal in, they have technology that can tell them whether you have one or not, regardless where or how they're mounted...pretty sure there's only a few models that are completely stealth.

          Yeah, they emit some sort of tuning frequency that is detectable. I'm not knowledgeable in the radio stuff...

            From what I understand, they emit their own signal that intercepts the radar the police emits...and in turn they can detect the detectors detecting....lol

              actually using the 9500ix passport is undetectable or so they state. or any of the passports that use the 9500 detector
              you know if they don't see it lol

                    Not me but another person, it's not illegal but the police got very picky about everything, he ended up with a fine for anything they could find wrong. Cost him a lot of $ and since you have to go to court in Seattle to dispute it...
