  • White Wheels

For those of you that have them...

Are they hard to keep clean?

Did you wax them first to help with brake dust adhersion?

What do you use to clean em? (anything spray on hose off?)

    Do you regret them?

    Re: White Wheels

    I don't have them.

My silver wheels are even hard to keep clean.

    Yes, waxing helps with cleaning.

I use Sonax Wheel Cleaner on mine.

I would do white centers but I like my silver too much.

      Re: White Wheels

Even though my white wheels were plastidipped, they were fairly easy to keep clean as long as I did wipe them down fully after each wash. I used to wash my car at least once a week too. I found putting a wheel wax type spray did help. Also this was with my 2.0 which gave off almost no brake dust.

I know Danny has white wheels which are painted/powder coated and he seems to keep them pretty clean fairly easy. Also a 2.0 so that might be why.

Are they hard to keep clean? Yup, they are. I clean them every two days normally. I say "keep clean", because cleaning isn't hard but they do get dirty pretty quickly.

Did you wax them first to help with brake dust adhersion? Nope

What do you use to clean em? (anything spray on hose off?) Sonax Wheel Cleaner works great. Spray it on, let it sit for a few minutes then spray off and wipe down. Since my design is fairly simple it goes by pretty quick.

Do you regret them? I love my white wheels!

Sonax is the best wheel cleaner I've found so far. My advice is do as suggested and wipe them down once a week. I've had silver, black, white, raw aluminum (well maybe it was coated or anodized) and chrome wheels on various vehicles over the years. I find regular wipe downs to be the best route.

            Re: White Wheels

Well these are CH's and im not the best known for keeping wheels clean, think I washed my car four times last year and haven't once yet this year, lol. Being that their CH's Im worried that the spaces in between the spokes will hold crap like my VMR's used to, that's why I'm thinking a good waxing out of the gate should help and some sort of cleaner that I can spray on and hose off.

A little off topic but is that Sonax wheel cleaner safe for anodized surfaces? My lips are anodized and Work recommends only soap and water but i find that a pain.

                  Re: White Wheels

I have powder coated white wheels and they aren't too bad for keeping clean, but the brake dust seems to stick. I can take a wet cloth and just wipe them clean though.

Dont regret them one bit, I think they look awesome!

                    Re: White Wheels

I don't have white wheels but i do know a good product to keep the brake dust off. The Oem pads on the car likes to dust and there's quite a thick layer of build up every 200km or so, I tried the wheel protectant from armor all and it worked great, there's much less dust sticking on to the wheel, and is super easy to clean and you don't even need to use wheel cleaner! I spray it every two months.

Haven't heard of anyone having a single problem yet, it is pH neutral, so shouldnt affect any surfaces.
