  • GoPro Pan Tilt Jib!

Just put the final tweaks on Jib/Crane I started a few weeks ago. It started out as just a GoPro Crane but it evolved into a Pan/Tilt Jib that will hold a 2lb camera (maybe more but that is the heaviest camera I have). It is super light weighing only about 12lbs and breaks down into three sections for portability. Here is a iPhone video of how it works.

Anybody around this weekend? I am dying to get out and and do some drive by videos. Maybe the coffee meet on Sunday?

It worked out to be very stable and smooth. It only needs 7.5 lbs of weight to balance the rig. I need to get a small remote monitor for the DSLR and HDvideo cams. The go-pro app works great as a monitor I just wish it was real time and not so delayed on the iPhone. Anybody use the go-pro app on Android? Is it any better?

Actually I have two Fat Gecko mounts that I was going to attach a section of Aluminum pipe to for rollers. Was wondering what the best setup would be. Any Ideas?

That looks wicked! Would love some rollers of my car!
I was just thinking roll down the window in the back (of a four door car) and have someone operate it from the back... could work?

Thats pretty much all you need actually. Just a mount for the camera at the end of the pipe.

Where did you get the clamps for the ball mount ? That looks perfect.

                      Not my picture unfortunately.

Talk to Andrew (RONDAL), he's built one in the past.

Manfrotto Super clamp is probably what is used. They're the best in my opinion. They have a male 3/8" stud to attach to a tripod head.
