As Meyers said, overland flooding is not covered by your home insurance. As long as you have comprehensive coverage on your vehicle it will be covered. If anyone's homes did get flooded and you need to replace carpet or flooring please pm me as I should be able to get you some sort of a discount

The water in edgemont tastes a bit weird now, I would suggest everyone boil their water before drinking.

They've said repeatedly that this is normal as the purification process reacts with the extra amount of sediment in the water, but that the water is very safe to drink. No boiling needed.

                Re: Epic flooding

The girlfriends dad works as part of the City of Calgary water department and was at my house all weekend drinking the water, I think it is fine, a bit of a funky taste but it isn't going to kill ya. Working in water treatment myself, if the influent TSS/TDS is increased, the water quality WILL CHANGE but it is still going to be within the acceptable limits until the system is pushing capacity for a long time. That is the reason that we have been asked to limit water use is so that the filtration backwash cycles can keep up.

Today I was down at mission donating food from a family picnic to homeowners, volunteers, police, etc. totally opened my eyes at the situation. I didn't expect such high spirits from everyone. Makes me want to help and get muddy.

I was down there yesterday afternoon helping out a co-worker and a bunch of other random people clear their apartments. Really makes you think about all the things you take for granted on a daily basis!

That graph is very neat. I think we hit 5500m3/s here in the Hat.

Thankfully I got no flood damage, I am in the evacuated area here.

                                Re: Epic flooding

Our photogrammetry guys are processing high res aerial imagery of the bow and elbow flood plains. Plane went up saturday morning to capture it all. Not sure if it will be available publicly but it is pretty unreal.

Stonewall and I did a donation drop and drive by in Bowness this evening. Big mess. Hoping to commit a chunk of saturday to helping somewhere.
