      Re: Racing 2013

Well the full course is done (Layout wise) at Castrol still needs some curbs and runoff but I have to say I like it. They have changed the direction of the track so it is now run clockwise which has made it much safer they only need to move the wall in Turn 1 and it will be safe all the way around.

Here is a single lap vid of the finished layout.

      On to the races.

      (Saturday)

      Race 1
Only 5 cars take the grid 3 of us in FC then Blair in his Pro-Mazda and he has a lady renting his F1000. The lady renting the F1000 has no open wheel experience and i believe the only thing she has done is Track days in a Ferrari 458 which is a brick compared to the F1000. She runs out of talent on the second lap and for the rest of the race we have standing yellows in the south end of the course. I finish 2nd to Teague and ahead of Brad in his newly painted Citation.

      Race 2
Got the jump on Teague at the start of race 2 but could only hold it for a couple laps after he got by I slowed down a little and tried to work on some lines got down to a time of 1:20.7 so getting closer to Teagues 1:19.9.

After the races on Saturday we decide to change gears in the car as i am barely using 4th gear as we had geared for about 190-200kph and are only seeing 175-185 while running the course backwards.

      (Sunday)

Morning practice drive around on the warmup lap and the car is just screaming (noise coming from gear box) pull in and proceed to pull the gear box out again. (Miss-matched gear pair was the culprit) proceed to miss Race 3 as a result of the repairs.

      Race 4
Getting a little closer to Teague in outright speed manage to hang with him a bit longer before the tires start to get greasy from me pushing hard. Get down to a lap time of 1:20.4

      Race 5
Well I had packed up the camera gear as Brad was heading home early so it was just me and Teague left but he wanted to go out and run since he had sponsors there so I went out without my camera on. Managed to stay with him even more this time and was even closing in on him at the end brought my lap time down on my very last lap of the race to a 1:19.973

Overall good weekend even though the car count was thin the car ran well and dropped my times about 5sec over the whole weekend. Hope to see more guys out for the Sept Races.
