Lucky find in G-ma's storage Unit

Today i spent the day cleaning out my nana's old apartment and her storage unit and i managed to find this little gem.





the wood is actually in perfect shape so i wont even have to refinish it, but i assume the electronic components are shot in it because it is so old. I have no idea if anything works in it as i haven't even plugged it in but whatever the problem is, i plan on rebuilding it. Updating the speakers, maybe even put a little spot for an iPod/aux in port.

I have never done anything like this before, and to be honest i have never been very interested in record players, but somehow this has gotten me motivated to rebuild it. im excited to have this project over the next couple months or so.

i almost gurantee that beside the pots being a little noisy when you turn them, that every thing on that will function correct.

It wasnt a bigh end clajritone, but compared to today, if it's tube, it's a hmm, best analogy, ? Would be a cobra vs a newish c6 vette, pain in ass to maintain, collectable, but new stuff could outperform it, but if you parked side by side, no one would ask vette driver anything. If it's solid state, more expensive work required. And maybe not as much value/collectible. Made in Canada success story by monk of gold corp story.

i plugged it in last night, and i found that the speakers seem fine. the radio and record player do not work and whenever i touch any dials i get some sort of tingly feeling in my hand :P

nope.. like i said... the wood doesnt need refinishing.

im super pumped have this in my basement or even when i move out.
