Calgary's Best/Worst Car Wash Thread

It would be nice to know where the your favorite and least favorite car washes are in Calgary.

Best touchless will have to be the ESSO car wash in edgemont, $12.99 without gas, but super clean and waxed. The wax actually works. The drier is on for 60 seconds.

Worst touchless (at least in winter) is the Superstore automatic car wash near Cardel. The water drain sucks, the exit is full of uneven ice, Mama's van got stuck at the exit once.

Best self serving, Johnny B's car wash, $1/min. Takes 4$ to clean the shell and chassis of my car, vacuum cleaner($1/min) is very strong, 1min to clean the interior. $5 for the wash, but then you need to polish and wax at home.

Wash at home with 8-year-old meiguier's shampoo during summer!

Never use auto washes on my cars, but I am a fan of the chaparral car wash on 194th, it's always clean so no Driving though mud right after washing

Centex on Bannister Rd is where I go. I think $1 buys you a minute and $2 (toonie) buys you three mins. Always hot water, good soap, wax works, good lighting. Go at night and close both bay doors. It gets steamy warm (so it's not as bad in the winter) and no cars are waiting behind you. Beware of potholes going in though, you gotta either offset your entrance or go really really slow... or air up the bags.

i also never take my car through an automatic wash. dont trust them, and i can do a way better job doing it myself. i usually go to the carwash.ca in midnapore, but the centex on banister also works fine too.

in the summer i like to wash my car on my driveway

In for info on this... especially in the marda loop/westhills area. All the ones around here are garbage. My two favorite are the chapparal and the centex in midnapore. Kinda nice that they take credit as well.

gas king / centex midnapore ftw, go at night time as mentioned above, its empty and you can wash with a mit and dry it nicely inside the warm bay.

summer time hand wash at home only of course.

Centex in Tuxedo on Centre St and 23 Ave is where I like. Also the Smart Mart in Valley Ridge. Stay in the right bay and second spot. That timer seems to last the longest.

Another +1 for Centex in Midnapore. I've spent countless hours there over the past 4 years, usually between 10PM-2AM so that I dont have to wait and can take my sweet ass time! Even spent 3 hours there once just chillin with a friend.........lol

There are 2 shoddy spray nozzles at the Centex so i always avoid those bays, they don't have a constant stream, they sort of surge. But yeah that is where i always go

this is true, i prefer the furthest left bay :P
