pitbull is simply another word for "mutt", in the these terrier type's of dogs.

Good point, you could always advertize as a "Mixed breed".

The problem with pitbulls is some people have bred some of them for violent behaviour, basically rewinding the clock on domestication from wild dogs, so because of a few, everyone must suffer, and the dogs the most.

yea it sure sucks that they have a bad rap. but just like dobermans, rottweilers and german shepards had their bad rap times, hopefully it ends and they are all welcomed everywhere again.

on a good note, we took Maggie over so a really nice couples place today and they really liked her. we think they might be a really good fit for her. bitter sweet fingers crossed.

well i am pleased to update this thread with some good news. a really nice, professional couple have decided to take Maggie. we couldn't be happier, neither could them, and Maggie. we went over there tonite to see how things are going. Maggie had a little sleep over there. she was doing amazing and really seemed relaxed and at home, much more than she did here, with our other dog. long story short, we are very relieved to have found some peace for our dogs and that Maggie has finally found her furever home.

thanks for all the kind works and support for Maggie. it sure is tough these days to get people on board with anything to do with pitbulls. much better times when people knew dogs were dogs and that its bad owners who make bad dogs. not the other way around.

So true Pat...and I'll throw my 7.5c in here...I grew up with dobies and pitbulls...its how and who THE DAWGS grow up and are trained by...cliche'...but Ceasar Milan is very close in all he does!

I was an Atco Gas meter reader for 1.5 years. Walking around everyday with ALL breeds of dogs, you have no idea how many small shitzue's I was "attacked" by. Then I once made the mistake of walking into the yard with a 120lbs Rotty in it. I let him sniff me for a bit, he seemed friendly so I went in. I walked over to the meter, and he went around the corner and disappeared for a few seconds. Next time I turned around, he was running at me full speed, with a tennis ball in his mouth, and took me right to the ground. I think once I was down, he tried to lick me to death. I still had a few scratches on my chest afterwards as this dog was a giant beast, but the poor guy just wanted to play. How can you be mad at that?

Great to hear I was just thinking about this yesterday as I saw a bus shelter ad on the local high street that read 'Staffies, They're softer than you think' from the very large and impressive Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and I had hoped you had success with your wonderful pup!
