New Car For $30k.

My buddy is looking for a new car in the $30k range. He doesn't have a ton of criteria he wants to follow, just wants the car to have a good warranty, 0.9% financing, and have decent acceleration. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Total crapshoot. Could be ANY car.

But... Not a lot of good deals out there. It's usually 1.9-3.9% for cars right now.

Not sure about financing, but the one new car I love at the moment is the Scion FR-S and its about $30000. I know its not Euro, but I dont car. Those cars are hot and appear to be really fun to drive!

GTI MkVII is on the way soon... MKVI also will be discounted.

I drove almost everything priced between 25 and 30 about a year ago and I loved the MKVI GTI the best. So I bought one.

I feel the best way to find a car you like is to narrow it down with some basic specifications:

Like:
Sedan? Coupe? Sports? Wagon? Hatchback?
2 Door? 4 Door?
HP? Fuel economy? Balanced?
Gas? Diesel? Hybrid?
Sports Package? Luxury? Special Options?
2WD? FWD? RWD?

What is it going to be used for?
Work commute? Long Drives? Moving sports equipment?

It's a bit hard to narrow it down without some more input.

Like I mentioned in the original post, he doesn't have a lot of criteria. He's by no means a car guy. When his Tahoe got fixed, he told me they replaced his "cadillac" converter

He said he'd buy a manual if it was the right car, though I think he overestimates his ability to drive one, it'd be best if we kept it with automatics.

$30k, new car. Doesn't have an aversion to any brands and doesn't have preference to any either.

Wants a car that has decent acceleration, I'd guess lower than 8 seconds 0-60.
