    Re: BlackBerry 10 Launch

I'm a nerd sometimes, and you know what? I'll put a bet in that BB will not only go up, but that they will license their file sharing technology to some bigger fish. BB stocks down? Time to buy some!

alright, so why weren't you buying when it was $7 a few months back? you'd have made 50% and you could be sitting on a beach somewhere with your multimillion yacht moored off the coast.

oh wait...you didn't take that bet.

there's a TON of things RIMM could have done in the interim while their stock plummeted to boost earnings and fix the business. They could have licensed stuff over a year ago and they chose not to.
Instead they chose to focus all of their time and resources for 3 years on BB10, and when it was released it was "just as good as an iphone or samsung". it wasn't better, it didn't have new bells and whistles, it had no wow. they spent 3 years to come up with something that was available 6 months ago.
Sure it might not be a "bad" phone, but it underwhelmed, and while it might buoy RIMM along for a little longer, I think ultimately RIMM will have to be dismantled and sold off and licensed out. But that could have been done 12 months ago and saved a lot of pension funds a lot of lost earnings
