Go Pro Hero 3 Black

Does anyone have any experience with or own the hero3 black edition? Im thinking about picking one up. i currently have the original go-pro and i already really like that one. having a second one would make for some fun different angles.I look forward to making more videos. Hopefully i can get some good rolling shots and videos of this years upcoming cruises/shows.

if anyone could share some info, if you like it or not that would be great thanks.

i had the original gopro and something was wrong with it so i got upgraded to the gopro2 which was amazing in comparison. i can only imagine how much better the 3 is!

Yeah the GoPro 3 black series is good, amazing quality. 60 fps is pretty sweet. I just find the battery life sub par, ill have to get a spare soon.

as i have been doing a lot of reading of reviews and such, it seems like the battery life is its only downside. but i don't really think it is a big deal to either get the battery bacpac or just get spares. ill do a bit more research, but im probly gonna pick one up this week.

Hello,

OGC warranty department has sent out this message regarding Hero 3 Batteries.

We've been getting a lot cameras back with battery problems. Most people don't know that you have to cycle the battery 3 times before using it. Maybe dealers can pass on this information to their clients when they purchase cameras.
Shortened Camera Battery-life

The batteries used in the HD HERO cameras need to be power cycled a few times when they're new before you'll get the full battery-life out of them.

To power cycle your battery, please charge until full and deplete by recording a video with the camera. Repeat this three times. Your battery-life should then be about 2 hours of continuous recording.

wow thank you bucky!!! while at speeders over the weekend i brought the gopro and the battery lasted about 10mins.... i was pretty choked. Makes me feel alot better now that i know that ill have to cycle them.

hahah just saw the posts about the holbrooks.... i had to sneak them into the shot :P

I got mine around christmas in Montana and i love it. I had the original GoPro so this is obviously a huge step up. I must be one of the lucky ones as far as battery, i cycled it but it wouldnt die very quickly at all. Glad i got it though! This summer will be fun, i used mine SO much last year and the year before.

I bought a hero 2 last year and I love it, I've been thinking of picking up another one so this will probably be what I end up getting. I don't think I had battery issues with my other one though..
