iTunes Set-Up Question

I got a new laptop and am trying to restore my itunes library on it.

I don't remember it ever being this difficult lol.

I download the newest version, and then for some reason when I launched it, it went ahead and found all the music on my HD and imported it. Now it looks like every song is in my library two of three times. Stuff I don't want in it is there also...

So what will happen if I hook up my iphone5 and sync it...I think I know already but wanted to ask. I want my library to be exactly like what my phone is now lol. If I sync it'll screw up my phone also wont it.

What do I do, anyone an itunes master?

you can remove duplicate files, dont know where under the brand new setup but its gotta be there somewhere.

also, i find it far easier to create playlists that sync rather than full itunes libraries. just makes it so much cleaner and easier to deal with as you sync what you need

try to make your settings to manually manage your music. it shouldn't sync your music to your library then as you do it all yourself.

if i delete it all then hook up my iPhone wil it sync with my phone or wipe the iPhone clean also?

just go under the iphone itself -> music and adjust how it syncs and what it syncs
