    Re: European 7 seater Suv's ?

We rented a Durango for a road trip and it was quite roomy and versatile. The look is not to my liking but to each their own.

Not European but take a look at a Toyota Venza? A friend of mine has one and it's pretty decent both in quality and gas and looks okay too. Other possibility would be a Mazda CX9.

      Or maybe a Porsche Cayenne?

Well took a xc90 out today and very impressed with it . All around very functional, road manners great handles really well on corners for a suv. The 3.2 is not a powerhouse but it's decent for it 25/31 mpg, lot of neat features in it that are good. Center seat in second row has a built in booster.. +in my opinion. No tethers for 3rd row tho. room with all three rows up is good. My wife was very comfortable driving it (she's five one so that's important). Not a redesign planned til 2014 or 15 . Checked an R design out while we were there.. Nice also I really like the s60 also but I think that'll have to wait

Probably too late but if you're looking at Volvo and you haven't picked a salesman yet talk to Robert. He was awesome! If you get really serious they will let you take it for a 24 hour test drive so you can go get groceries, pile the kids in or whatever.

Also, steer clear of the V8 in those, they have too much power for the rest of the drivetrain. V6 is where it's at. Oh, and don't ever plan to sell your volvo unless you want to give tons of money away.

Edit: Guess Richard isn't there anymore, that's too bad.

Maybe consider a Toyota highlander...not a euro but definitely reliable. I was looking for a 7 seater myself earlier this year and looked at the XC90....eventually leaned to the highlander...no timing belt like the XC90 decent power and fuel mileage also. my 0.02 cents.

When our Golf was at Cosmos, we had a Mitsu Outlander for 8 weeks...very impressed with how it was in deep snow, and on ice...we messed around in it a bit...the fuel economy was decent too...9-10l/100.
Was a blast to drive on the Smith Dorean to Canmore, after a 30cm dump.
