    Re: Calgary Tourism

The Caesar is more a Canadian drink but it really depends on the clamato juice as that is the part that is not available in most places, although I did see it in the food section of a high end department store here, the same place that was selling Kraft Dinner for over 3 pounds a box, something that is also hard to find here.

I do think Chinese food is extremely regionalized and the food in Calgary is very different than a lot of places and there just seems to be so much variation when you eat Chinese food in Vancouver, LA, London, Hong Kong or Berlin that you get used to a particular style. My wife and I loved Calgary Chinese and have had problems finding anything we like here so far that is enjoyable and reasonably priced, we had local take away one night and got a lot of dishes and they pretty much all tasted the same.

I just want to be clear that I'm not saying Vancouver food sucks; it doesn't. They're great!

But for Chinese food, I have found that Calgary has better offerings than Vancouver. Not sure about T-Dot.

        Re: Calgary Tourism

In the last months I've been in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver. When I was in Montreal I tried going to my old haunts and most were gone, since being in Vancouver I've found a couple of awesome Japanese food places and one Indian one. I think good food is just a matter of learning where the good places are.
I find the problem is finding a good place that you like, my restaurant preferences are often from personal trail and error.

I also like the food to be cheap!

Speaking of which you can get great delivery Chinese food for reasonable prices from Spicy Hut in Calgary.

Nope, it's Chinese delivery, the portions are big and if you ask they put the ginger beef sauce on the side so you can enjoy crunchy ginger beef instead of the usual soggy stuff when it spends too much time sitting.

you are thinking of "spice hut" not "spicy hut".
