xbox 360 issue.. wth?

so i've been playing new forza now.. my xbox is 4 years old now.. 6 replacement OG box.. anyways went to play the other day and the controller didn't connect/turn on the xbox..

replace the batteries.. no go
unplug the xbox power/hd/etc and try again

NOPE
went to walmart and bought a new controller
try again
NOPE

WTF looks like the wireless controller died or something??? just broke overnight..

anyone have this happen before?

looks like i'm going to go buy a new 360 then.. kind of pisses me off since i could wait to get the 720 one.. whatever

plug the USB charge cord in and see if direct connect allows it to work

yea tried the resync.. andrew i don't have any USB cables but i'm assuming direct works for sure

doing some digging online. seems the front RF board dies and you can easily replace it (DIY) board is like 5bucks on ebay so i'll probably just order one and give it a try..

LOL derek i just turned 31 a few months ago.. not that old were still DINKS too.. so when i have kids in the next few years.. sorry son.. this is daddys xbox 720.. you back to bed! hahaha

anyways i think its a failed RF module.. 5 bucks on ebay!

I would be lost without my Xbox, went nearly 3 months without one when I moved here and I did miss it a lot, but now I have a nice new one now!!

Edit: and I am no young pup, but I have always had a console from my first Nintendo NES till now, just a nice escape when you need it!

I have 2 broken xboxes, you can have one to steal the part from. I have 3 20gb hard drives too not being used.

Is your OG one pre or Post HDMI? If you're using HDMI I've had problems when I turn the xbox on first but HDMI didn't sync to the tv and so therefore wouldn't connect the controller. sounds weird but happened once.

Or just buy a new one, way quieter, way more stable and can be had with 250gb hdd. I'll always be a gamer, just not very competitive online anymore due to time.

When is this Xbox 720 due to come out?

The latest rumors suggest holiday season 2013 but with no confirmation yet anything is really possible, personally I think it will be a 2014 release.
