As someone that just got in another car accident due to idiot drivers in calgary it is nice to remind everyone what idiots they are and to wake the puck up when they are behind the wheel. As so being an idiot while pointing these things out.. well you are just ruining your message by being part of the problem.

i don't have a problem with jaywalkers. i have a problem with them expecting me to stop. for some reason, the jaywalkers here think that they have the right of way. of course they do. they've been told that by police. we also have a $500 fine for not yielding to pedestrians. i would hazard a guess that pedestrians know this. that is why they step out, after all, if the cops see, you will get a huge fine. i think this is why idiots on the road constantly stop to let a jaywalker cross anywhere on the road. drivers have been scared by police about huge fines and other costs related to it, peds react and use it to their advantage. jaywalking = running. don't take your time. the city is causing it's own problems by having a jaywalking by-law, as well as telling peds that they have the right of way. stupid.

i disagree with how the biker approached his jaywalker situation, but if i'm driving down the road and some guys expects me to stop for him, he has another thing coming, and i let them know it. and if you stop for one, i will lean on the horn until you turn off.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

And i will stay in a stopped position until i feel it is safe to legally proceed. And if you lay on your horn for more time than is necessary to warn somebody or in the case that you are just being a prick (until it becomes "annoying") you can be fined $270 ($160 early payment) under bylaw 26M96 sec.51.1.

sure. that's true, and fine with me. and you would be fined for impeding the flow of traffic. but chances are that someone behind me will side with me, pissed at you now, long before the cops show up to ticket either of us. my point is that too many people do this and i'm sure it annoys you when you are at the back of a car line for a jaywalker. i'm mostly talking about those drivers who stop in the middle of a roadway for no apparent reason but to let some idiot, who can't find a crosswalk, cross the road because the need a slurpee. it's one thing to already be jaywalking, but to stop for them like they are at a corner? screw those jerks and screw the people who expect vehicles to stop for them, in those situations.

Put a cop at each intersection in downtown Calgary for the 3-4 hours of rush hour. Quota met and everyone behaves like mature adults.

This irks me so much. Light goes yellow and 4 cars still decide to turn.

                          Dude is a dick.

Secondly, you folk see to be taking this so seriously.

It is just driving, you could have to walk home. No need to flip the **** out, just causes yourself more frustration.

Living a block from work, is nice. As I too, walk home.

People seem to take this **** so seriously. If someone walking across a road is causing you this sort of rage, you maybe should take a look at your life.

it's not a guy crossing a road that causes rage. i've looked at my life. it's great. i vent my frustrations through the horn, or the internetz. it's the fact that there are laws in place that are being broken. respect is a 2 way street. respect the rules of the road, peds should too. it's when they don't that is the issue. having to pile on the brakes in an unnecessary situation sucks. watching someone pile into the back of you because of this also sucks. do you really think that the jaywalker is going to be found the cause of the accident? no fvcking way. the guy who rear ended the guy who stopped will be at fault. regardless of speeds and proximity it's the jaywalker's fault. that, i feel is a problem.

like i said, i don't have a problem with the guy who actually makes an effort, realizing what they are doing is wrong, to get across the street quickly with out any interruption to the flow of traffic. after all, that's jaywalking. the rest is ignorant abuse of your method of travel.

i have to wonder though, living a block from work, if you cross the street, do you use the cross walk, jaywalk, or expect traffic to stop for you?
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3
