Can't we all just agree that a phone is a phone?

I think my father has the best phone around, it is a 3 year old plain black flip-phone made by LG. No email, no internet browsing, no picture messaging, its major feature is a 1.3mp camera. The phone rings (he even has a variety of about 9 ringtones! all sounding like a phone instead of a cow or song) and he answers it. Carries out his conversation and hangs up. Phone rings again, same ringtone no matter who is calling, he answers, carries out his conversation and hangs up. No ******** about how fast/slow a web browser is, no ******** about having to work from home because he got an urgent email. If people need to get a hold of him they give him a call. Why can't we all just go back to the way it used to be??

Technology will never stop. Same goes for any industry. Why do you have airbags in your car? Because advances in technology allowed it to be affordable and readily available. Will you ***** and complain when a compressor dies? Probably. Will you switch to what all the fanboys run because its supposed to be the best? Probably.

Just throwing out some good ideas to think about. I too enjoying having the internet and communications at my fingertips. But the weekends at my cabin without any form of communication (no TV, no telephone, no cell service, no computer) is a prime examples of "getting away from it all" is like. And trust me it feels great to just turn everything off and just enjoy yourself and company you are with. No, it isn't going to work at all in this world but it is nice to experience once in a while.

Yeah, if the s is the one I'm thinking of, it is a nice size, and smaller for sure. Screen is toast on my one x, so back to my desire. Still pretty happy with my desire though, actually....
