Looks, to me, like plastidipping the front end of your car for the winter would be reasonable paint protection wouldn't it

anyone tried using plasti dip to line the trunk instead of using dynamat etc the can says it can be used as a sound deadener.

Have to admit this stuff looks pretty amazing. I really like that it's so temporary, and doesn't need a whole lot of expertise or prep to complete.

Has anyone ever done their rims with this? Is it durable enough to last a a few months?

It would be cheaper to use that BED LINER stuff wouldn't it?

That's what I use. Well rubberized undercoating actually. The rubber deadens a bit more than just regular bedliner.

It doesn't hold up to a tire machine. If your getting your tires changed, don't expect it to come out the same.

Plastidip will very likely do nothing to lessen vibrations and act as a sound deadener.

Not to take anything away from Natty, but I dont quite think this is in his field of work really. However Industrial Plastics & Paints here in Calgary carries the full line of plasti-dip in cans, gallons and 5 gallon tubs. All you need to do is go to home depot to buy some proper thinner and spray away.

When it comes to wheels, yes they will protect from rocks and such, but as mentioned already, they will not hold up to a tire machine. The dip will peel.

As for using it as a deadener, I think Plasti-dip would be WAY too thin to actually do anything to reduce noise or vibrations unless you put on like 50 layers!
