    Re: plasti dipping colors

Personally, I love the B8S4, the MK4 Supra, the MKV GTI and the Mazda 3. Both the paintjob and the color just look amazing on those ones. The civic, sunfire and mini coop are not really my cup of tea, but they just show that if you wanna go balls to the wall different, the choices are there for you

So how do you go about washing your car? Wouldn't a pressure washer take it right off?

I love the colour on the BRZ and very much thinking of doing this in either something similar to that blue, army green or white...

The color of the BRZ is nice, but the black everything else is just killing it for me. As for the mini i won't even get started on it lol.

Yes a pressure washer could take it off, but it depends how thick its layed on and how smart you are about it. If its thick enough, you should be able to put the pressure washer right up to it and it will hold up to it. You just need to be smart and be careful around where all the edges are. The dip wont peel from the middle of the car, only from the edges. I've washed it 4 times now with a pressure washer. At first I was being very careful with it and going from a distance, but i'm getting closer and closer, and to be honest, i'm not far off from what I normally would wash my car (about 1.5 feet away give or take). Again, I back off a bit when washing near edges.

                    Re: plasti dipping colors

So I got around to plasti dipping the grille and mirrors on my car. Nowhere near as extensive or eye catching as what Patryk has done, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I was hoping to grab some shots this morning but it's still not fully dried and it's pissing down rain so some proper shots will have to wait. I just used the spray cans, but the texture turned out pretty damn good.

                          Re: plasti dipping colors

price of a spray can? I have some lawn furniture that could use redoing and I am considering plasti dip as an option.

                            Re: plasti dipping colors

I believe it's about $16.00 a can??? Depending how much furniture you have, might be worth just buying a gallon of it, spray gun and go that route.

Yes buying the dip in gallons is definitely something to consider. Remember that as great as plasti dip works to cover up imperfections, it all needs the ability to be peeled off. If you do the furniture with 2 light coats of plasti-dip, it might look better for a while but when it starts looking rough, you're gonna have a hell of a time trying to get it off. Make sure you put down some good thick coats (about 4 or 5) so that you can peel smoothly and redo in a few years when needed.

Definitely want to make sure you cover as thick as you can. You're way better off layering it real thick and peeling the stuff you don't want off over isolating areas and trying to clean off the overspray. I've got the fun task of going through parts of the car tonight with tar remover to get off all the overspray I did to the mirrors / hatch.
