  • WT Borrow or Rent - Sump Pump?

I think its a sump pump I would be looking for

Anyway I need to borrow or rent a sump pump. The water well at my farm is full of soil and other fun stuff. So I need a pump that can get and keep the water out for a long enough time that I can shovel out the stuff.

Yea, you need a sump pump, I would let you borrow one but it's not very big and is not designed to run continuous (would probably burn it out if it had to run for several hours straight. Mine our just designed to sit in a well in the basement.

You can find them at Home depot, not sure if they'll have the capacity you're looking for.

I tried to just do it with big paint pails and I get about halfway down and cant get any lower lol

I bought one of these a while ago and it works well. Will empty my 5 gallon well in about 10 seconds (maybe even less). Guess it depends on your volume though.

        Edit: Link would help.

If you are trying to pump water with a high amount of solids, consider using a trash pump or sewage pump, they are also available at PA, just a bit more expensive
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you

                what mantis said.
you're also going to want to ensure you're not running the pump dry. many of these work better submerged, and can get quite hot once water levels come down. so make sure you turn them off/unplug them when water levels get low as you'll burn it out pretty quick

you can also rent either a trash pump or a submersible style from Home Depot, Rogers Rent-All does too but for the most part I have found home depot to be cheaper and more lenient

Just let me know...lending it to you for a couple days shouldn't be a problem...I've got about 50 feet of hose...could get more if you need it.

Why not just go rent the proper pump? Most equipment rental shops have the right stuff and should have the right one for you.
