Yep, I'm guessing that thrashing was a good wake up call for them. Sad though, as Poland played well in the first 15 mins of each game. They should have put at least 2 in the back of the net right at the beginning against the Czechs and i'm sure that would have changed the pace of the game quite drastically!

On another note, happy to see Portugal go through, but absolutely shocked that Netherlands lost all 3 games of the group. Did not see that one coming!!!

Definite sad-face! Despite the Dutch conceding some 'softer' goals what surprised me most was the lack of finish.

Oh well, the tournament has been great so far and can't imagine the knock-out round being any different!

Oh dear Croatia are out... Shame.. they were doing well against the Spanish Armada...
I have no sympathy for the Irish, they had chances to bury it from the word go. Really would have liked to see them leave with a win against the Italians. Oh well perhaps they can give the Italians singing lessons instead.

Tomorrow will be interesting. The potato faced assassin is back for England (whoot whoot!!) and we're going against Ukraine who HAVE to win. I wonder if Sweden will go out beating the French?

England vs Italy..? I prefer that over the Spanish.

It gets better, Greece vs Germany. With all the politics happening on this side its going to be a good game!

SethOwen, I totally did not see the Dutch losing all three games. Lots of great players, too many egos and Robbin needs to learn how to pass again.

Well a fairly interesting match today but regardless of the issues England has won the group and will play Italy, which I think is a winnable match if they get their **** together for a whole 90mins!

Definitely an INTERESTING day in group D. Who can believe Sweden beat France 2-0??? Good on the Swedes though!!!

Shaping up to be a great Quarter Final round. I'll be cheering for Portugal, Germany, Spain and England. Hopefully none of these teams disappoint!

England won the group holy &^%$!!!!
What a game!! Did the ball cross the line..? Didnt see it... lol No seriously, we (England) have been going on about goal line technology. This is the strongest case so far.
I can't believe England won the group let alone win the game.

Sweden beat the French, at least they went out with a win. The quarter finals look mouth watering. Greece Vs Germany is my highlight. Greece play in a pretty stubborn way and with politics in play they will be so up for beating the Germans. But the Germans midfield is playing awesome.
I think England can beat the Italians if they attack. But I don't know how we going to do that, the English midfield is so weak. England might do a Italian job...
Would like to see France hold off the Spanish. Spanish are getting cocky playing with no attackers, that tactic may backfire hard. It almost did against the Italians in the group stages.
Im hoping for a England vs Germany/Greece Semi Final.

Read the play-by-play and it sounded incredibly boring. Glad I didnt take the time off work to see it! Happy Portugal are through though. They're gonna have a hell of a tough game next!
