    Re: All inclusive

I've been to Costa Rica, DR, Cuba, and Mexico. All were great trips. Cuba seemed to have the most mild weather which is obvious with its positioning geographically. Locals were friendly everywhere, the people in Costa Rica are the most laid back. They don't bother you with timeshares or trinket sales. DR was the worst for that.

What he said. I've been to Mexico 5 times (Mayan/Cancun 4 times and Neuvo Vallarta once). Dollar for dollar... you can't beat Mexico and yes... there is tons of competition between the resorts so they know they have to treat you right or else you'll never come back. I've mainly stayed at the Excellence and Palace brand resorts. Not one complaint to date... and likely the reason why I continue to go back.

FYI. Read a ton of reviews off of TripAdvisor.com and go from there. Keep in mind, a 4 star in Mexico is often better than a 5 star in other places.

          Thanks for all the input.

I have been to Cuba and really enjoyed it... we did an all inclusive for 5 day but the real highlight of the trip was staying in Havana at the Havana Hotel Nacional. Really neat city with a lot of history.

Last place I was at was an Iberostar in Montego Bay Jamaica. HIGHLY recommend it. The food was 5+ Star. Excellent resort, but it's a man-made beach (just like most in Montego Bay), so it's not the greatest but still absolutely nothing to complain about, but next time around we'll be booking something in Negril on 7 mile beach. Unbelievably beautiful there.
