It does require you to sign up for their service, but it is only $5 per month and is worth it to access all the US content. It will also allow you to use services like Hulu that are blocked to Canadian IPs.

What it does is gives you a US IP address. When you sign in to your Netflix account, it thinks you are in the US and gives you access to the US content. When you sign in to a device (ie. my iPhone) with a Canadian IP I get the Canadian content. I use it on my Wii to access US content, and my WDTV hooked up to the same TV gives me the Canadian content.

Read their site, it should answer any questions you have.

What is more interesting, is that it says it can give you a UK IP. In theory could watch iPlayer stuff, like top gear live...

Yeah any VPN works the same way...But I thought you had to specifically sign up for netflix US? If I sign up in canada, log in with my account through a US VPN, Ill get netflix USA? This is news to me, and may make bring me back to Netflix!

So would I have to cancel my current Netflix account and sign back up while using this or can it be done with my current account? Have you done this yourself and how did it/ is it working for you?

It used to be the case that you would have to have a Netflix account that you paid for with a US credit card.

That is not the case now. I use my Canadian Netflix login to access the US content. If any of you have been travelling in the US and used your Canadian account you will see that you get the US content.

There are other ways to do this with VPN, I just found Unblock Us to be the easiest for me.

I am doing this currently, and have been since last August without a hitch, using my Canadian Netflix login information.

Sweet I'll have to give it a try! Do you do it from your computer and then it works when you sign in on your xbox or do you need to do it from the xbox?

So signed up for that Unblock US thing and it worked. Scrolling through it looks pretty good, not as good as I expected but definitely better than before. Super easy to do as well.
