We checked out the Beetle at the car show last night. In person and close up, compared head to head to the GTI which is actually similarly priced... no contest the GTI destroys the Beetle. Everything on the Beetle is so much cheaper; fit and finish is a lot worse. For what they are asking (saw one that was $31K + PDI/freight + fees + tax) I would never buy one. Looks good in pics but that's it.KR

I saw a new new beetle at the pub the other day. Dude let me sit in it for a sec...Doesnt seem that unlike a golf (read: GTI) to me.
Regardless, I wouldnt shop for or purchase either, but I think if you put some nice wheels and a drop on one of them beetles it'd look better than a golf. Im excited to see what people get up to!REAL men use harsh language as self-defense
