Driving up to Louise for the day tomorrow. If anyone wants to share a ride up or meet for a couple runs on the hill let me know.

Re: Heading to Lake Louise tomorrow

this is the busiest week of the year for the hills. three words of wisdom.

    GET THERE EARLY.

I was headed past there on Wednesday morning, and it was lined up into the right lane from the merge lane on the #1 at 930am.

Hmmmm. I was tempted with the snow they've had lately but maybe I'll wait until next weekend. Are you talking about cars lined up to get into the parking lot, or are you talking about parked cars on the shoulder?

I went yesterday, and it was absolutely packed. The parking lot was backed up onto the highway all the way back to the "lake louise 1km" sign. We arrived at the turn off around 9:15 and didn't make it into the parking lot until after 10.

God, that's crazy. Were the lift lines and runs as busy? I typically do top of the world, platter, glacier chair loop when the snow is descent. I can always go early, but I can't make the lift lines go away.

Hit up Pano, 'Busy' there is pretty empty.

Got 20cms yesterday, which means 25-30 in Taynton.

Re: Heading to Lake Louise tomorrow

I suggest keep goin to Revy, if you have a place to stay. Be warned the town hotels/inns, have No Vacancy.
For some perspective, during the road closure on Wednesday, a friend of mine that works at Revy mentioned they had their busiest day ever.
It's busy everywhere. Revy got tracked out, even the hidden gems. Since Revy was closed, we shredded Kicking Horse & it too was a very busy day. Typical irritating bottle neck of people at the gondola base. Still got turns though. Hopefully the new RCR ownership, injects some money and another lift in the alpine there.

If you're on the fence, i suggest not going to Louise or Sunshine. So many gorbies, and punters out there.

I'm headed to Kimberley in the morning, only because my family is out there. Otherwise I'd lay low.

                Castle? Norquay? Pano?

Revy is so sick, but iffy.

The chance that you might get stuck out there, for a week, is a real concern. The skiing is insane, especially if you friends who live up there.
