  • SIRIUS Satellite Radio

I got an A4 loaner from the dealership today and had a long 2 hour ride home without my music and was surprised to find the sat radio was operational in the car.

I never really thought about activating it in my current car until I tried it out today, lots of great sports channels, of course it didn't hurt that it was monday and Tebow did his thing for the Broncos again yesterday.

Anyway...do any of you guys have it activated? If so what are you paying a month? Are there any promos or offers out there right now, or any secrets to getting a "deal" lol.

    Thanks
    -Mike

    Re: SIRIUS Satellite Radio

I had a three month trial in my GTI when new, I used it and then did not sign up and the offers got better and better and eventually I signed up. The Fiat actually comes with a year so I am good for a while now, but I don't mind it at all, as long as the price is not too much. I think you just need to call and negotiate a bit and you can usually do better than published rates.

Loved Sirius in my other car, they wouldn't let me transfer my lifetime membership so I haven't renewed yet as the prices went way up in the last few years.

Meh, my dad has had XM for a while, car adapter, and a stereo in his office and his garage and his house.
I don't get it. They say no Ads, but there are tons of ads and they are all just super annoying spam ads.

                Re: SIRIUS Satellite Radio

Really, the only ads I have heard are quick blurbs for upcoming shows or something on another channel, and usually just the DJ talking about it, never a spam type ad.

The biggest issue (as with all radio) is repetition for me, still hear some songs far too often, but that means I move away from some stations for a while and listen to others, and I miss BBC Radio 1.

Strange. Maybe it is the channels we listen to.

                    Re: SIRIUS Satellite Radio

Worth every penny if you do lots of driving. Like Blair I had a free trial fro sirius. Once it ran out they keep giving you very cheap offers. Only ads i've heard are on some of the comedy chanels, other then if they are letting you know of dj's playing or concerts coming up.

                      Re: SIRIUS Satellite Radio

I love my Sirius. BPM, Electric Area, 80s on 8, 90s on 9, Raw Dog, Blue Collar radio, Laugh USA, NFL network it just goes on and on.

However, like mentioned above there is a lot of repetition on any particular channel. I don't know if its any worse than standard radio (because I don't listen to that) and the only ads I hear are one the comedy channels, or self promotion (of a show).

So I had the loaner car for 17 days, driving home today I really did miss the Sat Radio so I just activated it in my car, got it for $7.99 month for a year but had to pay the $24 activation fee.
