Correct me if I am wrong. Earlier this spring I bought 6 of these drives: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX36055 to use for D2D backups for about $80. Now it is $199. Ridiculous!!!!! Even the Seagate Green drives are $189.

I got a 2Tb refurbished drive (don't remember which) from them for like $70 last December.Jeff

Related to the natural disaster in Thailand I thought. There's shortages on drives around the world hence the price hike.JayComment

All the main machined parts are made in a plant in Thailand that was hit HARD. From what I read 50% of their machines are scrap and it will take them 2 years to get back to full capacity.Name: Brent

I was just looking at last months invoices and on Oct 13 we paid $39.99 for a Seagate 7200rpm, 16mb cache. On Friday the price of that same drive was $99.99. 250% increase in 4 weeks!2012 VW Jetta GLIComment
