I am getting a new cell through Bell and I'm getting this

        $38.40/mth gives me

         700 Anytime Minutes
         Unlimited Evenings & Weekends (8:00pm - 7:00am)
         Call Display and Voicemail
 Conference Calling, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding
 Bell to Bell Local Calling Free

$63.40 plus gst isn't too bad, this is the plan you get if you are a member of Apegga or ASET.

So I'm debating whether to switch from Rogers or not right now. Out of contract and no matter who you go with a 4S price is the same regardless! So it comes down to whether another retailer has better reception / coverage than Rogers and whether they can get close on my current plan and costs. This is what I have right now / what they are offering me; is it any good?

          MY10 Canada Wide
          150 anytime mins
Unlimited Early Evenings (from 6pm) & Weekends
          Call Display & Voicemail
          Unlimited Messaging etc
          500 International Messaging etc
          6GB Data

          TOTAL: $70.00 + GST

Is it worth looking around? Who is the best carrier?

            Re: Cell Phone Carriers

I’ve been with Telus since 2001ish and never had problems with their service or reception coverage. After reading everyone’s responses on here I decided to go out there and compare some plans myself and see if I could get the same sort of plan for cheaper then what Telus was offering to me.

I checked out Rogers, Fido, Bell, Telus, Wind and for roughly the same plan coverage they were all $70-80 per month (Blackberry/IPhone) I did not find any carrier to be cheaper then another or have 1 better deal/plan that would sell to make you switch.

Telus has been great to me whether I was here in Calgary, or traveling Alberta/BC, through most of the US and even in Mexico, and I rarely get any dropped calls. Any time I have called them they have been great to help me out and always fixed the problem asap. Even paid parts of my bill when there was issues or mistakes made. Their customer service, at least with my experience, has been great and I have no complaints.

Everyone has their good and bad experience regardless of what company you go with. In the end I think it’s just what you prefer. I haven’t been with any other carrier so I don’t know from experience but only from what I hear from friends.

Seeing that Telus is not extremely more expensive then the other I will most likely be a long time Telus client unless they decide to piss me off.

              Re: Cell Phone Carriers

If you are happy with the service you get with Telus and they will switch your plan to the best promo plan then stick with Telus, most likely what ever Telus offers you will be exactly the same as what you could get anywhere else and if you ask you can probs get free VM and CD. If you don't do much long distance and talk regularly to the same ten people then get set up on the $60 Fab10 plan. if you do choose to change I would recommend going to Wireless ETC. in Costco in Deerfoot Meadows, They don't sell the iphone but they will tell you all the plans right there as they deal with Bell, Rogers, Fido, Solo, and Virgin and you get cheaper prices on accessories plus in-store credits that are unbeatable. They offer an unbiased opinion too which is nice! If you do go there, ask to speak to Armaan or Amin, they are the best salesmen in Canada for the Company, I know this because I used to work with them at wireless ETC. Tell them Mike McMillan sent you

ASET you say, I should look into this, I pay 110/month for about the same, give or take a couple hundred anytime minutes
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
