Re: Camera Suggestions. Need Help From the PRO's

Nice. I'm starting to look for a new lens. I want the 18-200, but it's pretty pricey. My favorite is my 50mm f1.8. I'd also like to upgrade that one to a 50mm f1.4. Two very different lenses, and I'm not sure which I would like more.

That is awesome, getting an slr is pretty rad, especially when first starting out with it. Welcome to the rabbit hole.

      I have gone backwards.

My D200 sits on a shelf, cancelled my D300s body.

I bought a Nex-3 for cheap, then an adapter for my Canon FD lenses and my Nikon F lenses, been rocking that a lot. It is fairly impressive for what it is. Then playing with film and some darkroom stuff.

depends entirely what you are shooting.

the 18-200mm NikonVR is one of the best all purpose lenses you can buy, especially if you are travelling.

The problem being I would use both but for now can only afford one . I am going to Europe in April, which makes the 18-200 look attractive. The fast 50mm would be great pics of the kids though. Especially indoor, no flash stuff.

Picked up a D7000 just in time for the Hawaii trip a few weeks ago. Here are some shots. Still trying to figure out the camera so had to ditch a lot of shots on the trip.

I got an olympus ep-1 for christmas. I have been playing around with adapters for c-mount lenses and some old canon film lenses I had. Its awesome because it offers alot of the functionality of an SLR but its much more compact.
