So far haven't been able to find a wagon even with an automatic that is fun enough to drive.
Haven't visited Audi yet. Will go this weekend, but A4 is a bit underpowered I think, and the A3 is smaller than a GTi for cargo space - we've ruled out hatchbacks as we have one already and it's too small for us. Driving Infiniti EX/FX was a waste of time. CTS wagon = way too ugly. VW too slow as well for the Jetta Sportwagon plus the trim level is laughable. Just a class below the budget I guess.
Hit the BMW dealership, the X1 and 3-touring are WAY underpowered despite looking the part. Boring drive, Fiancee thumbs-down before I even opened my mouth Fun having a lady in my life who likes fast cars Took the X3 xDrive35i with the 335 engine out and bagged on it - SUPER fun actually, so far best option for a practical car. Then just to be fair, went next door and drove GLK350. Not quite as fun to drive, but way better than the wagons.
Drove Cayenne, fun but too expensive and too big.
Appreciate the US S4 idea. It's fiancee's car so its a stretch for her to buy w/o test driving. Also she is looking for a new car feel so I would say a couple years old tops, 2005-2007 is getting too old...
