They're employees of Shoppers, and it is a real post office for all intensive purposes. As they act on behalf of Canada Post, by way of Shoppers.

So they are a means to circumvent union membership whislt still maintaining a postal outlet. No wonder the employees at these locations have such bad attitudes.

For someone who instantly pops up with a counter argument, you're pretty quick to accuse all Shoppers staff who work in the post office to have the same attitude.

There are very few dedicated post offices these days, my local one is in an independent convenient store and they seem to be pretty good, but I am in there fairly regularly it seems so maybe they know me now. With damaged packages you have to look at all the steps involved from the box and how it was packed to how many times it was transferred along the way etc., I am sure people do not intend to damage things but stuff happens along the way and perhaps there are a few workers who don't care or are having a bad day but we can find this in most services, no matter how their labour structure is set up.

Are we sure shoppers aren't employees unionized?

And at my location they can't speak a word of English. Not even any engrish.

No they are not, they are all employee's of shoppers and get paid like crap will little training. Yet all they have to do is walk from a room a couple feet away to get your package so it is very unlikely they get damaged in that step. My wife also works in the shoppers post office once in awhile, so be nice to her otherwise she will sit on your package then come home and not sit on mine.

My best female friend worked in the post office for years, and took abuse on a daily basis over things outside of her control. It comes with the territory of customer service, as you're a face to lay blame on. At each post office I go to though, I rarely get poor service. Though that isn't to say it doesn't happen. Simply that not each and every one of the staff members who work the counter there, will have piss poor attitudes, and treat you like ****.

I should have been more clear that the employees at my local shoppers postal outlet all have bad attitudes. At least all the ones I've met.

To be fair you must understand that I will argue biased opinion based statements regarding labour in the same manner with which they are made. If one is to assume all union workers have a bad attitude, than I can freely state the opposite. Obviously my real life views are not so close minded but for the sake of internet conjecture I will often pose the same ludicrous argument only that it will be opposite.

So basically you are admitting that you are talking out of your ass and not making any sense just for the sake of arguing the "other side" of the debate. What exactly does this prove?

That is not what I am saying at all, you have misunderstood, or I was not clear enough. I am saying that when arguments are made, that are biased and "universal" in judgement, than you can expect a retort that is "universal" as well. This is only in terms of topics which I feel worth arguing. I am clearly a pro labour person, which is why, when it comes to bashing of organized labour you can expect me to argue. Other topics, I will not argue, or I will have no input.

edit - to be even more clear, I am not saying that I will argue everything with a universal judgement based argument, only cases were I feel it is needed to make clear, that one cannot judge a group by an individuals actions.
