Andrew, I would be less pissed if they actually sold me a city golf filter, but they sold me a TDI filter. In case you don't understand my frustration, this would be the equivalent to you. You go into a specialty audi shop, order an OEM S4 filter, and they decide to give you a Mushi Mushi passat filter...because you know its the same thing

Hahaha, this topic got way out of control. I like the customer service comparisons with pizza hut and urban x etc., that was fun.

Wow...... 11 posts and not one in this thread makes any sense. Do you even read what your typing? This has nothing to do about an oil filter....... My 4 year old can read this thread and figure out it's not about a filter....... And she can't even read.

Ps, Patryk now gets cost plus 200% for knocking TDi's AND Passats in the same post!

All I know is what I've experienced, and the last time I had a complaint about CAW, what I got from them was (direct copy and paste here) "Reminder: We don't need any of your business."

          A+ for customer service.

Like I said, Concept1 has never been great. Just better. I'm not trying to defend C1 in any way, I've always said that you should only go in there knowing exactly what you want, and never ever let them actually touch your car. I'm just surprised that anyone has found CAW any better.

Wow this thread has gone on far longer than I had originally thought. They sold you the right filter but accidentally picked the wrong part off the shelf. If they had sold you a tdi filter it would have been a different story and you could bash them for not selling you the correct one but this was purely an accident I believe in my very honest opinion. I was the one who talked to curtis and he must have just grabbed the wrong one. Accidents happen and this was 100% an accident. I'm sure if I had taken it back the next day (saturday) and explained to him what had happened he woulda just switched it for me and given me a deal on the next one.
The fact that you needed it friday night and you realized it was the wrong filter at 5:55 is just bad timing and that's it.
Everyone can believe what they will but C1 is a good parts shop, decent pricing on certain items and has a few good employees. Remember, its all in the customers attitude and swagger in how they approach the situation.

Sean, I will agree with you 100% with what you wrote. C1 is a good parts shop, their prices are more than decent, and they have a few good employees. I will also agree that what happened was an accident and that Curtis probably had an off day when he grabbed the wrong filter. But the mistake is not the point of this thread. The point of this thread is to show that when Concept 1 makes a mistake, the dont give a fuk and brush it off as if nothing happened. They do absolutely nothing to find a solution for the customer, and just expect the customers to come back.

As i've previously mentioned, I've been going to concept for over 5 years. This is not the first time they have fuked something up and done NOTHING about it. Enough is enough, and I just wanted to rant/warn others of what they can expect from the customer service at that store. Sure, when things go right, everything is peachy. But nobody looks for resolutions when things go right. Its when things go wrong that questions are brought up. I find it very sad on Concept 1's part that another shop came through for me for a mistake they didnt even make. Thats true customer service.

We're all human here, and mistakes are made (and should be forgiven). I can accept the mistake of grabbing the wrong filter, what I cant accept is the ignorance and rudeness I get when trying to compromise a solution to a problem they created. For the record, I was never rude in person, or over the phone to any of the employees at Concept 1.

                    Disagree.
Why shouldn't he accomodate the client, due to his mistake? ie; Stay 30 minutes late on a Friday. I can tell you I'd be unemployed if I had that apathetic attitude in my line of work.

A real issue would arise if the wrong part number was listed under the correct description in their sales system. I had that happen to me once years ago in an unrelated store.

Go to buy a few electronic pieces, the SKU is for one product, while the description is for another. Damn near blew the project I was working on.

I just stayed an hour after work to help a customer that our computer system screwed up their payment info. Not my fault, but I helped.

Did I get paid for that extra hour, NO!

                        Does it matter, not really.

We have a happy customer that is going to send us more business and not bash us.

PS, This has been one of the best/least offensive towards other members while still showing them what up, thread in a while. I'm getting some good laughs.

Same scenario in my store, if an extraneous and unforeseen issue arises, we take care of it. I know it's messed with plans before, but I'd rather be a little late for something personal, than sully a relationship I've been trying to build.

that's not only retail, thats life.

if you want to be the kind of person that believes a 9-5 job means you show up at 9 and leave at 5 you're going to have a lot of crappy jobs.
9-5 means you are working at 9 and you're working until 5. if you mess some **** up at 4:55 you stay and fix it. You dont dump it on the next guy tomorrow, you don't leave the customer hanging.

the internet is a powerful thing.
im willing to bet the amount of money C1 will lose because of this thread alone is more than that clown that made the mistake makes in a month.
Oh someone wanted coilovers, but reads this and is now going elsewhere....good luck.
Someone wanted wheels but doesn't want to risk it.....ooops.

Shops should really give a **** about the reputation lazy employees create.
we dont HAVE to go to C1, there are other local options, and with the US dollar where it is its just as easy to call one of the 50 suppliers in the US and get the right parts couriered for nearly the same price.

We shop locally because its convienent, and they offer us something an internet site can't. CUSTOMER SERVICE. but then you dont trust the customer service you're getting here, and you're researching your parts before you order, you might as well just start ordering parts from Germanautoparts.com for a fraction of the price C1 charges. Hell their over the phone support is top notch too!

So remind me again C1, why SHOULD i spend my money with you? You seemingly dont care, you cant be bothered to be personable when we come into your store, and you're useless at figuring out which parts fit what.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, C1 is the place i go when i cant get what i want anywhere else. I'd like to know what their management thinks about that. if that's what they want their store to be known as "the place we go when we have tried everywhere else"
