From all the bad experiences here i've read id would definitely thin twice about going there again.
Pretty sure the picture shows that they come with the kit......

I like this one as well from the previous page:

    "Phone Order Price: $700.00
    Web Order Price/Walk-in Price: $595.00"

Yeah, you know, we just charge an extra $105 cause we have to pick up a phone?

Yup my FKs came with the wrenches.

But again i WILL be going back to C1 because so far Curtis has gone far out of his way for me to make sure that i get the correct parts and exactly what i want. He has displayed, to me, that he is willing to help others out and go the extra mile. Aaron on the other hand not so much, so i always wait around to talk to Curtis. Everyone in the store working knows that i only talk to Curtis about my parts and when i come in he always asks how the parts i last bought were doing.

Re: FUK Concept 1 you suck, Cheers to CAW!!!

When I bought my suspension last year they handed me a box that had the part number for a wagon crossed out and was re-written with the sedan part number. The drop was horrible, and I asked around on passatworld and everyone agreed that the kit that was sold to me was actually for a wagon. Called concept, showed up to show them and all they told me was... I should buy coilovers for an even drop.

I was disappointed and after spending $700 on the kit I didn't know what to do. After explaining my situation and how the suspension was only in for less than a week I wish they would have treated me a bit better. Also FK released a streetline kit for my car a month later, I think a company should be up to date with new products coming out.

Every time I'm on their website I can't help but laugh and think to myself "why would I buy parts from a shop that would charge 100 dollars more for something because you called them?". It must be because they think their "knowledge" is worth more in the spoken form. Maybe if you call and pay the extra charge you will get your coilover wrenches next time. Call it ignorance but I say it's just plain stupidity for not knowing that a cup kit for a wagon is going to have a higher spring rating than a sedan to compensate for a little more junk in the trunk. If your gonna sell a product, KNOW THE PRODUCT.

not every company knows when the new product will be released.......... take apple and blackberry for example, you know when they know.

Concept1 = Ken, Curtis or Andrew..... if you don't deal with them directly, you will most likely have a bad experience. PLUS always remember that you are treated how you treat them. I know if I have a customer that "knows" more then I do and demands service with a bad attitude, he/she will get treated accordingly, BUT if I or my staff screw up, then we take ownership and deal with it.

I always go in polite, the first time, even the second time I am calm. I worked retail myself, I know how annoying it can be having dickish customers.

But I did my best to avoid all of that by, knowing my product, knowing how to fix, owning up to **** ups. I am not saying they should be mistake free. But they should at least be batting above .500.

MechhEng, I almost can't believe your story. They actually remember you? Man, they couldn't recognize the 16 year old kid with a bus, who was there pretty much every day, pretty unique.

I remember I needed a part for my bus that they don't make anymore, I called them from up here in Edmonton, to see if they had a used one lying around. They did and they wanted $300 for it, which was obscene. So I called a shop up here got the same part $100. When I asked why they wanted $300 I got some long winded explanation from Aaron about how it came from a certain model of bus and whatnot. Which is ********, the part I need was the same for all buses for 4 years.

I only ever dealt with Andrew a few years ago back when we worked there the first time and have no complaints. Ken has always been knowledgable. Curtis has been decent for buying parts from, but when it came to fixing mistakes, unfortunately he too has dropped the ball in the past. I think it all goes back to Stonewalls comment. Concept 1 would be a decent store, and Ken is a good guy, but he's definitely losing business because of the service of certain employees.

Mistakes are human, they will always happen no matter what shop you go to. That part I understand. But as Popp mentioned, good businesses take ownership of their mistakes and deal with it. I'm still never going back to concept

there is nothing worse than a shop that wont admit when they've made a mistake or simply dont know. its made even worse, but happens all to often that they then take the situation, spin it 180* and blame the customer or their parts for the issues.

If you dont know, you dont know. I would far rather have you say "i dont know" than try and make up excuses. I am going to a shop because they have expertise i dont, and i need to trust what they are saying. When that trust starts becoming questioned because you dont know if what they are saying is true anymore, the relationship falls apart.

if you dont know what part is needed, say i dont know...but that you can find out. If you dont know the source of an issue say "i dont know" and i'll either go elsewhere or re-evaluate the issue. i dont want to sit there and throw money at problems HOPING for a result that works.

Andrew hit it spot on. This is the biggest problem with any retailer. I can't stand when people just won't fess up, and say they don't know.

Every time I go to C1 I know exactly what I'm there for and exactly what they have: by looking at the internet shop first and doing a lil browsing that way, in out BOOM, done. I do check what they gave me before I leave too... that way I've never had a problem, in fact its normally a pleasant experience. Having a VW specialty shop that can offer you prices waaaaaaaay lower than any dealer, and performance products normally only available online, in your own city is some what of a privilege wouldn't you say? If they can't answer my question id take it upon myself to find out by other means before making it C1s responsibility. they just people, just like u. my 2 cents

Seems counter productive. If they can't answer a question, you'll do research yourself, so as not to pressure their staff? Why have staff in a specialty store if they don't know the products and parts? Granted not every question can always be answered immediately, but senior staff can usually resolve any question in moments. Circumventing the entire question, and any knowledge they may/or may not have entirely.

Sorry, but by your logic that would be like taking your taxes to an accountant, but before you get there, you research how to do your taxes on the internet, fill out all the proper T1 slips for them, and prepare all the documentation for the CRA. Then you pay him a hundred bucks to put it in an envelope, put a stamp in it and mail it. But before he mails it, you double check that the CRA Address is printed clearly and the stamp is on the proper side of the envelope. That way, in out BOOM, done. I mean having a tax specialist that offers such services is some what of a privilege wouldnt you say??? If they can't answer the Auditors questions, i'd take it upon myself to find out by other means before making it the accountants responsibility. Accountants are just people, just like you. MY 2 cents
