Probably let you run without a helmet. I think they have relaxed the rules on that one. But you will need pants.

Saw you make your first pass there tonight before they lost the 1/4mile reflector. Car looked good!

I left once they switched over to eigth mile.

                    That cross-wind was something else.
I got a 13.87 @ 105mph. (lol@me thinking I'd get a 12) I was nervous & only did two pulls. One 1/4 & one 1/8th. I will say, that the fellas that seem to be regulars there are great. I let them know it was my first time, and they were quite helpful.

How'd it sound from the stands? Truthfully, I don't think it sounds much "faster?" than a stock R. Perhaps because I've never been outside of the car to hear the boost.

I saw one of George's mechanics show up on in his beautiful green Corrado & one of his mates? in another awesome mk1.

How is your 60ft? Reaction? Im guessing not great, 105 is decent, 13.87 is more reflective of driving skill rather than car power.
Like anything it take a lot of practice to master drag launches.. (By no means am I anywhere close to that.. my best 60 was 2.1 or something.. which is terrible)

Sounded good from what I could tell. It was so windy that you couldn't hear much more than the howl of wind.

You looked like you spun off the line, track prep there always seems to be brutal. The car looked good though, and with more passes you'll go faster. FWIW I did a 12.9 years back in a dodge pickup and I only went 104mph, so you can definately get a 12 out of your car with more practice.

On a side note I just got done putting my SEM on this morning, so I'm anxious to get out and get a couple runs in myself. I don't expect much though, as I know I'll be searching for traction with my open dif. Maybe next time you plan on going out we can meet up.

Yep Mark, my starts were really bad.

First one, I wasn't "pre-revving". Just dropped the clutch and crushed the gas from basically idle.
                          R/T .597

                          1/8 9.10 @ 81.70mph
                          1/4 13.872

Second one, I couldn't get the second staging light to stay on.. (reversed TWICE).. then it turned off a third time, and I was just about to put it into reverse again when the tree starts counting down!! lol.

It was fun for my first time, but I won't be making this a regular occurrence. Don't want to break anything haha.

You could easily see some 1.8 60fts with practice, then it is just working within 1-2-3-4 to find the perfect mix that gets you your highest trap.

You could definitely tell it was a turbo R from the stands
I may appear to be nice, but don't be fooled, I probably don't like you
