That way I see it, these ppl aren't even part of the "club" and whine about posts they can choose not to read. A lounge post where we goof off is limited to that area. Informative and educational posts stick to their appropriate areas. Unless of course, someone chooses to be immature or rude and call me out and I retaliate. I always will, so don't blame my nature.... Consider the root of the problem: whiners. Not us, the social and educated contributors.
That's your take on the subject. I won't pay to join a club that supports a view such as the one you posted.

It's not whining, the lounge is a reasonable venue for open banter and the likes. However no club that allows alienation of people based on views that aren't related to the clubs general intent (cars) is worth joining.

Then you're fighting the wrong battle. What you want is The Lounge (off topic discussions) to be removed and limit the website to only car relevant discussions. Create a poll for having The Lounge removed.

You completely missed my point. The lounge is a fine place for such posts. Sadly the rest of the forum also sees overflow from this.

I'm not really to concerned, all I am saying is the attitude that is perpetuated on this message board is enough to keep me from joining the club and perhaps I'm not the only one. This may or may not concern you but has been evidenced through others as well. So to say that there is only a handful that have a complaint is not true, there may be many more that will never complain because they just don't care and consequently don't bother with this group at all.

I enjoy reading and sharing with other locals as much as the next guy, that is the only reason I still poke around this board. I don't feel anyone on here is offensive enough to warrant any personal dislike, but there is room for improvement in the overall presentation.

Overall presentation of an individual is the definition of individuality. It's ignorant for anyone to criticize my (or anyone elses) communication mannerisms. Firstly, let's acknowledge that my offensive language (that started this fuuk nut of a mess) is regarding a post in The Lounge. The title alone was FAR more information necessary to inform you of what to expect if you clicked. So JesterB took effort (knowing what to expect) and created a concern. An example: Why not walk into a strip club and complain about the nudity?

Also, let's discuss the "overflow" of offensive language outside of The Lounge. I'm known to have a fair bit of attitude when it comes to defending myself. Have any of you taken the time to read one of these posts that I'm referencing to see the progression of hostility from everyone BUT me. I retaliate because I'm a man. I retaliate because I stand up for myself.

How do these threads start? Very simply... Someone asks a question. Some uneducated individual responds with incorrect information. Blah blah blah, finally I chime in and say "hey, this is how it is". I don't call anyone names or use offensive language. What happens next belongs on the Wild Kingdom. Mad angry testosterone takes over and keyboard monkeys begin hitting REPLY REPLY REPLY and typing insulting and absolute nonfactual fukt-up nonsense.

I am having to continue defending my logical and factual information regarding technology and automotives in other forums on this board. Why? I have no idea, but I invite you to follow this post: http://www.eurodrivers.ca/forums/sho...-still-foaming ......... Because it is heading that direction. Very soon, someone will begin attempting to insult or call me on my factual replies. Then, I fight back and the thread gets locked. I like when it gets locked. Because then I don't have to read any more moronic nonsense.

Eventually most of you will meet me in real life and say "geez, that guy is alright and just laughs sh1t off"... Which is true, even a reply like this takes me 1 minute to write. Comes out of my head into my hands and I type a mile a minute. Plus, I'm usually laughing.

So realistically, JesterB merely made a poor judgement call by being an instigator about this whole mess. Without the complainers, the website would be totally fine. The majority of us swear, but we sure get along great. And without the complainers and ignorant people, more factual conversations will be had.

So far my experience on Eurodrivers has told me this: Facts get you hated. Defending yourself gets you hated. Being a whiny snitch gets hand jobs. I guess the squeeky wheel always DOES get the grease after all ... Good thing the rest of the world doesn't work this way!

The overall presentation I am referring to is that of the club as a whole via it's rules and moderation of the message board. Not individual presentation.

                  Re: Offensive poll

I think what some people are missing out on is that this 'club' is much more than just the message board, its a group of friends... and they joke around and treat each other as such. You dont see a ton of 'formal respect' because as you get to know people you are more comfortable with what you say and get a kick out of pushing other peoples buttons; knowing its all in good harmless fun.
Now Im not the best person to be preaching about going to meets because I dont go to a ton, but if you do go I think you'll find everyone is pretty friendly and has a good time hanging out with everyone. Regardless of how they act on here.

Is this still going on? For the love of god, both of you, just move on. Go outside, play in the sunshine, drive your car, work on your car. This is an internet forum, congrats, you both have too much time, and you can type long responses.

                      Re: Offensive poll

I didnt wanna get involved in this, but fuk it here it goes. As someone who has been in this club for the past 2 years, I've been pretty much coming to the meets on a regular basis. If there's a meet i'm usually there. for the past 15 or so months that i've been to every meet, i've seen the same fukin people there every month, the same people supporting the club, the same people volunteering to help out with shows, and the same people renewing their memberships. Occasionally we will get 1 new person out to the meet, who sits by himself, doesnt interact with others, then thinks the club is full of elitist pricks. Why hello there! Glad to meet you scummy pawn. So happy to know you think so highly of me Maybe next time you come to a meet, say a word or 2 so people dont think you're some weird fuk that lives in his parents basement playing dungeons and dragons.

Now DJ has been with this forum for nearly as long as I have, and for the first year I can honestly say there was none of his "tasteless bullsh!t" going on. All that crap started with the original merman thread. So here's my question...where the fuk was everyone with their support and charity for the club before DJ started speaking the truth? It was still the same people at the meets. All you freeloadin complainers expect the highest things from an internet forum, without giving anything back. And you say nobody wants to join a club because of the language used on the forums???? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA go fuk your hat.

Maybe things were different with this club in the past, and maybe Blair can correct me if i'm wrong, but I highly doubt offensive language is what kept people from donating their time and money to the club.

This is reminding me alof of CVD. Thanks to the mods of Eurodrivers for not being vaginas. Greatly appreciated guys!!!

i don't know why people always associate a "club" with a forum!?!?!?!? It is 150% different entity's. If you can't be bothered to come out and meet the actual people in the real club, then you have no business forming an opinion on how the "club" governs itself off a computer screen.

Like i tell my 6 year old, if you don't try new foods/things, then you will never know if you like it or not............

^^^THIS x infinity +1. Also, I dont understand how people who dont support the club feel that they are entitled to form an opinion on how the club/forum should be handled. It doesnt work that way in the real world and same thing goes here. Get with the times.

"hey look at me. I'm gonna go vote for who should be on the board of directors at Apple Inc. I've never gone to a meeting, and I've invested no money in the company for shares, but i've downloaded two songs on I-tunes from the internet. My opinion must have a strong significance"........

The problem lies in the fact that the forum is the online representation of the club and someone new would never know which of you pays your dues and comes out to meets and those of you who do not. I do agree that coming out in person and meeting a bunch of you is the only accurate way to make an opinion of the club, but it does not always work that way.

As a paying member, your hosting the event, and if none of the group has changed for two years, then maybe you aren't making it as inviting as it should be. The whole "**** you if you don't like it" mentality is ridiculous. For sure the meets can be a good time. Personally, I don't bother to go anymore. I always found the parking lot portion of the meet to be fun/social, but the last couple meets I went to, when everyone goes inside, then its a little much for me. If it was held in a bar, then whatever, but I don't enjoy sitting next to families that are staring down our table because of all the swearing and stuff - but I guess **** them to eh? To each their own I guess.
