    Unreal http://www.vancouversun.com/news/the...633/story.html

The crazy thing is that I was in those businesses no more than three weeks ago and now they're gone. My father grew up just outside of Kinuso and I spent a good month of Summer vacation there for 16 years.

My Baba still lives there on the original homestead and has been evacuated once when the flames were 5 miles from her place. I guess she's on standby again as the flames are coming back in that direction. I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed that the farmland between her place and the fire will keep it at bay.

Tough to say, I guess if you have proper insurance you rebuild. If not, and you're paying a mortgage on a heap of cinders you go bankrupt. I feel bad for people who were renting and don't have tenant insurance. I know that there have to be people who don't have it. Hell, even I didn't have a clue until my insurance company mentioned it when I was changing my auto insurance policy.

the province has already stepped up and said they will be helping families who are displaced and have lost property. The Feds have also made similiar comments, and are allowing the province to tap into funding earlier than usual

i was watching a bit on this on the news last night and they interviewed people.. the community looked like any new burb in calgary and this lady said they literally had 45seconds to get out of thier house! the kids were crying asking if they were going to die and she said as she looked in the rearview mirror thier house started going up!!!
