Re: tablet time
interesting! i was very fond of windows mobile with 6.1 ... i did not enjoy 6.0 . and i did a lot of development in the early decade on CE . if 6.1 had a proper marketplace channel (similar to itunes), then it would have succeeded. i really enjoyed SBHome with 6.1 on my HTC Tilt a few years ago.
Now, some of my microsoft friends (Who come up out here for clients) bring their 7 phones. I also had to sit through a very horrible development on 7 @ technet this year. what m$ has done to "sort of" copy iphone leaves too many holes for developers to F sh1t up again. it's great to see some large companies (i.e. cnn, sportsnet, etc) on board with 7 for apps. But when it comes to custom brew, the SDK has too many open doors for bad programmers. the biggest of course is the state saving event. it's up to the developer to serialize the application state and restore? that's ridiculous!
so when you say the tablet wil run windows mobile, will it be a skinned 7?
i think the largest issue i have with tablets is the cost VS functionality. I do understand the need for a device that performs selected specific tasks. i do not agree with the cost VS a windows tablet.
if you present an ipad, android and windows tablet... sadly, the windows tablet wins in functionality and usability. does it fail in battery life? sure, but i'm okay with that.
i do understand the difference in opinions, and yes i make mockery jokes about stuff. but hopefull you understand that's just the way i am
as for opensource and kor's response... i still get a good chuckle. all my other very large developments and code i have sitting on a satellite aside, i did begin my career within the linux community. i was a contributor to many of the security and firewall development. prior to ipchains, i developed majority of ipfwadm. i also developed many other tools including packet replay and more. i can go on for hours about the things i've created that kor and most of you use on a daily basis.
so what i say about opensource stands. kor, if you wish to discuss it further then fuk urself because i don't have the time thanx!
