  • Caught in a hard spot, need advice!

OK...loose scenario...my neighbour is a D-BAG, had a huge fight with him...left my hood up while charging the battery...got home, went to start truck, wouldn't idle...took it into garage, cleaned spark plugs, started truck, huge smoke, checked oil while idling, smelled of gas...shut truck off. Drained oil...2 gallons of oily gas! Changed oil, truck runs and idles well now.
What possible damage has happened to the motor. I will use an oil stabalizer, and seal revitalizer. Never heard of this one before!

ok. i know im busy drinking, but something isn't adding up.

what does your neighbor have to do with this? did he put gas in your oil?

you do know that if your having starting issues and your fuel pump is running you'll just be washing the cylinder walls and can flood your engine out cause its too rich. this will cause oily gas.

again though, the post is so confusing

99% sure that my d-bag neighbour put a gallon of gas in my crankcase...drained 2 gallons of oil/gas out. Yes, I know about flood and wash issues. I pulled the dip stick while it was idling, and gas was evident. I drained the oil, and got 8l/2gallons out. Sorry for the slight confusion...was still a bit worked up. Thanks for the reply Andrew...this is a new experience for me...never heard of it or dealt with it before!

^^^ No it's not, he said 99% sure not 100%....... there is 1% doubt which makes it speculation not an accusation.

Re: Caught in a hard spot, need advice!

if you didnt drive on the engine it should be fine. it sounds similiar to when you wash the cylinders due to shitty starting issues and you gotta flush oil.

dumping a gallon of gas into the crankcase would involve opening up the valve cover or whatever to get it in. is there signs this was done?
i mean logistically speaking doing this would take a good 3-4 minutes of time. thats a TON of time when you're doing something wrong wide out in the open. are you sure this wasn't a car issue thats rearing its ugly head?

The way our places sit, he could have done it fairly easily without being seen, hood was up, and there's a bush in between our parking stalls. As for the possible issues, I had just replaced the airflow meter, and it was running great the day before...ironically I was going to change the oil when I figured this all out...because it wouldn't idle.

i wouldnt accuse him unless you're absolutely 100% certain he did it. unless you can find proof just take it as a warning and dont leave your **** open or lying around

Thats the way I'm leaning, thanks for every ones input. Oh and to somewhat quote Jess...sometimes obvious d-bag is obvious!!!
BTW, it was never my intention to confront him about it, the purpose of this thread was to determine if my truck would suffer any permanent damage.

Not sure I've ever said that, but it definitely applies. I know what you mean, one of my neighbours is fat and stomps around, and when I complain about it loudly in the courtyard with my other neighbours he gets reallllly quiet.
