Back from Gimbel Eye Centre, told me that I'm a very good candidate for PRK laser surgery only due to my astigmatism and my lifestyle. Price is pretty much what I was expecting $1600 an eye. Now do I pull the pin and get it done?

I did mine last year at Gimbel, it was absolutely worth it, and I haven't had any complications, at the 24 checkup I had hawk eye sight, then it degraded to only slightly above average after 2 weeks. It was relatively painless, and since it's been amazing.

I'd 100% recommend it.

I just had surgery done Wednesday afternoon. I had the Lasek/Lasik(i can't remember) Wavefront surgery.
The whole process took less than fifteen minutes. My eyes hurt later that evening like I had chopped a million onions. I had a check up yesterday. My sight is slightly better than 20/20. Eyes are dry, but I have drops. Eyes should heal over the month.
Was it worth it? Hell yeah! I can see!!!

I had mine done on Tuesday still on the mend, contacts were removed on Friday. Each and every day my eyes are getting better unlike the Lasik the recovery is much longer. Eyes aren't dry at all and very little pain overall, just the most boring days of my life has been the past 5 days. Well this is all the computer that I should be on. Give more of an update later.

Well just had my 4 week follow up today and needless to say I'll be getting book in for another laser treatment. They gave me contacts for the time being and seeing I've never had contacts in the over 20 years of needing corrective lens its getting some use to. They told me that I'm just legal to drive without corrective lens but better to be on the safe side and I have to agree with that. They also told me there was a reason that they would only do PRK on me because of my astigmatism's being so bad and there being the slim chance that I might need the touch up and with Lasik they really don't like going in for a second go (this was told to me before the surgery, and I guess I'm part of that small percent). So do I regret having it done? No not at all, the pass few weeks have been so great not being tied to the glasses of old and being able to wear some polarized Revo and Maui Jim sunglasses for the first time ever has be awesome. I've had little to no dryness after the first week and no issues with driving at night. I guess this is the little bit of the risk that we take with a procedure such as this.

I had my eyes done about 4 1/2 years ago at LasikMD. I have tiny black floaters that scoot around my eyes. I've learned to ignore them. However I love being able to see, and I'm probably about 20/35 vision now. I used to have -6.5 and -6.25 with Astigmatism in both eyes.

I just had my 4 week check up on wednesday. Everything is going good. My vision is still better than 20/20 (its 20/16). Fingers crossed it stays like that....

Ive moved back to London UK. So mine cost in the local currency here 2600 pounds sterling. That was for Lasik/wavefront. Currency converted it works out just over $4000. But bearing in mind the tax rate here is 20% and on your side of the pond its 5%. But I was quoted the same as Kjonus for PRK when I was in Canada. Im guessing wavefront and lasik would be more. If you do decide to get it done have a look around. Gimbal recommended I have PRK. But over here they said Wavefront and Lasik combined would be better...

I just went in for my consultation today (I have to get it for my Police app) and for the Lasik wavefront I was qouted $3780 for both eyes. But they appaerently knock off $400 if you have benifits through blue cross, so that will be a plus.

I had my three month check up today. It felt like my vision had reduced. My vision actually has improved. Its now to 20/12 ...from what I read online.. the theoretical limits...
