  • The Dens At Springbank

Have some spare coin and wanting the ultimate man cave?? A cool new development in Springbank, think it is about $375,000 for a typical unit, but would be a fun place to hang out!!

Starts at $375k, trust me you can spend a lot more than that!! the 375 gets you a 1,200 sq foot little garage, you can get all the way up to 19,000sq feet.

I've been watching them slowly building the compound its definitely going to be nice, with how close it is to the Springbank airport and some golf courses

Would be much cooler if there was a track as part of the development.

I'm not sure how good it would be as a long term investment as the carbon economy either changes or dies over the next century. Would kinda suck if no-one had recreation vehicles anymore and you still owned one of these glorified sheds.

A friend of mine is building these, he and his dad came up with the concept. He was telling me about them a couple months ago. Pretty neat.

While I understand the appeal of this. Old industrial warehouse spaced can be bought or leased for cheaper, and be in town, and offers all of the same benefits.

The clubhouse idea while cool in theory, its not going to be like a golf clubhouse. You might get the odd weekend a year where there are others out there, but for the most part its not going to be super busy, not busy enough at least for a social experiance.

Since I have no plans to give up living close to DT and therefore never will be moving to the burbs and have a garage, i would totally be into down the road splitting the lease on empty industrial shop space with friends or other likeminded people that would allow space to keep a vehicle over the winter, and work on the car.

i saw this on the news the other morning.. pretty cool idea but $$$$

but are you sposed to park you lambo there . go jerk off for 5 minutes and take a taxi home?? the whole man cave thing is cool but wierd in that aspect.. but then again if you have the money to go into that complex .meh mise well haha

then again if i had that kind of money i'd have a 4-5 car garage and a lift or two in my own slab heated garage man cave

and how many guys are wrenching thier supercars themselves?? i can see rich old guys doing muscle cars themselves but nobody is putting a wrench to a lambo in that place..

They have been trying to do this out in Sylvan for the last couple years at 1/3 the price they are now marketing them as storage space since they couldn't sell them as garages.

The guys with the big money and lots of cars are out at springbank airport the only rule for having a hanger is you have to have at least 1 plane so they buy a plane and hang it from the roof and fill the whole place with there car collections. Going out to see one in Feb.

i could see people using these kinds of things for large power boats and RV's. But then you're gonna get rich idiots dumping quads, sleds and the rest of the toys their wives dont want around the house.

as RSS said they become storage lockers.

My Dad is tempted as he would love to have a place to keep his R8 for more continuous access and perhaps another car or two, but as Andrew mentioned an older warehouse/commercial/industrial bay might be a better alternative, with it being closer to the action and perhaps a better long term investment.
