    Re: furniture shopping

Yeah I have been told it is like $5000K to join. If you are a developer and are buying bath tubs and sinks I can see how it would be a good idea.

if i was building a house from scratch i *might* look at it, cause there are some significant savings. But then you're limited to one place.

I have a king bed from there, full fabric sides with headboard and footboard, how big of a bed are you looking for?!

I have multiple pieces of furniture from revolve and EQ3. I'm happy with it all. At the time, Ikea seemed to be a fair bit more money but I think they are aligned now with more of the furniture stores.

EQ3 is actually a division of Palliser so they are actually a pretty big company.

I agree with others, have to almost go to all of them and pick out things that suit your style. You will go to places that might surprise you.

Revolves customer service used to be horrible, 2 of the 4 things had to be returned, but they were pretty good about it. EQ3's service was awesome, from the buying to the delivery. This is a few years ago now.

If you want one of those inserts to go in to a bed frame to hold a single mattress (king) let me know, I paid extra for one and never used it because our mattress required a box spring.

Not looking for anything crazy big but my current bed is lower to the ground, I would like something with a box spring.

          Something like this

your mom doesn't count as one of the "ladies", actually, maybe "ladies of the night", but definitely not "ladies".

I find a majority of my furniture through local sales, not craigslist, but smaller stores that have sales periodically. I've found some really unique stuff at stores like that, but I also use ikea for some stuff as well.

^ i agree. A lot of the big box places just make generic looking stuff. Stuff that looks and is "ok" but if you are looking for a very specific look, you'll rarely find it at the big box places.

i love my $13 ikea coffee table. I can put my feet on it, scratch it, destroy it, and have a new one every 6 months, and assembled in 5 minutes.

yeah, i want something that is unique. don't really want to see it at other people's places.

i hadn't thought about the cheap ikea stuff as expendable, but now that you bring that up.. i do need a new coffee table.

haha true. but dude its impossible.

I live above a starbucks, and there is one RIGHT IN MY LOBBY at work. not to mention if i walk home from work i pass 3 starbucks in my 10 minute walk, and if i take the train walk past 4.

                          i'm doomed.
